Pennsylvania Women Outdoors, Inc. is a Pennsylvania registered non-profit organization.

PWO was formed over 20 years ago and continues today to offer women the support and encouragement to enjoy seasonal activities in a non-competitive environment.

Membership is open to all women, 18 years of age and older. There are no minimum requirements with regard to athleticism or experience. PWO offers a variety of scheduled activities, events, and trips that appeal to beginners as well as more advanced participants. Membership in PWO is just $15 per year to cover basic costs such as printing, postage, etc. Any woman interested in joining needs only to fill out a brief membership form, available upon request, and forward with the membership fee to our Treasurer. Members receive quarterly newsletters that list detailed information on upcoming scheduled events, a roster listing areas of interest so members can contact each other by phone or email for impromptu activities.

Members are invited and are encouraged to attend quarterly planning meetings and offer their input. PWO events are suggested and led by members, and as a result, events listed in our newsletters often reflect the diversity of our members' interests. In recent years PWO members have gone on weekend camping and skiing trips, volunteered at area state and county parks, biked the Rail Trail, kayaked, hiked, splashed in the water, played in the snow, attended seminars, workshops,...even an IMAX movie and an arts festival! Current membership includes an interesting group of women, mostly from the York, Lancaster, and Dauphin county areas. However, we do have members and activities in other areas of PA and out of state. Our active members range in age from 30-something to retirement age. We are a warm, friendly, fun-loving group, and we always welcome new members.
